SHORT FILM: La Pelota
“La Pelota” short film was created as part of a youth filmmaking workshop at C.A.S.A. Zamora (Reel Monte), a new community space in the city of El Monte, CA.
The workshop was a 6 week course that culminated with the making of a short film. The class (approx 6 kids) collectively came up with a story, then I wrote the script for it. The class was involved in the pre-production process and was shot with a small crew of volunteers over a weekend at the park. The kids also acted in the short film.
LOGLINE:
With their soccer ball stuck in a tree, the park kids turn to their favorite recreation leader, Skip, to help get it down. In the end, a friendly serendipitously act circles back to help them.

DOCUMENTARY: Varsity Punks Summer Tour
In search of an innovative way to market our indie film, Varsity Punks, we put on a guerrilla–style theatrical release. 2 dude, 30 days on the road, we visited 14 states, relying on grassroots marketing to fill independent theaters across the country. We documented everything, including our daily social media stories, to engage our audience. This documentary is a glimpse into that experience!
DOCUMENTARY: La Cosecha Internacional
Andres Freyre is an all-vinyl, all-Spanish DJ in Southern California who has a passion for preserving and celebrating the music that he grew up listening to in the poverty-stricken hills of Tijuana. In this short documentary, I accompanied him, as a friend with a camera, as he revisited his childhood home -- a place that is slowly disappearing into the trenches of those hills.
